All the ulcerative colitis cases are diagnosed by video colonoscope and 21 cases are confirmed by pathological tissue slice. There are 75 cases in each treatment group and control group. Treatment: apply herbal coloclysis in treatment group, and the basic prescriptions: Ku Shen, Bai Ji, Di Yu, Wu Bei Zi and Gan Cao. Add Cang Zhu and Bai Tou Weng for internal retention of dampness and heat; add Chai Hu for liver excess and spleen deficiency; add Bai Zhu and Huang Qi for spleen and stomach deficiency; add prepared jiang for yang deficiency of spleen and kidney; add Bai Jiang Cao, Yi Yi Ren and Ma Chi Xian for plenty of mucus; add Bin Lang and Zhi Qiao for abdominal pain after Diarrhea relieving by medications. Dip the herbs into water six times the dose of them for 1.5 hours and decoct for twice by mild fire, 45 minutes for each time. Mix the twice decocted liquid medicines and concentrate them to 1/2 dose, and apply retention enema with 60~100ml for each time, or dripping enema with 100~250ml for each time. Apply salicylazosulfapyridine tablet of 1.2g, 2% lidocaine of 0.1g, Hydrocortisone of 3mg/kg, vitamin B? parenteral solution of 0.5mg, vitamin B???parenteral solution of 50mg, once a day, apply retention enema before sleeping. Results: the total effective rate is 84% in treatment group and 84% in control group.
