Internal Medicine

Polyneuropathy primarily  occurs from peripheral nervous system function or structure obstruction and the clinical manifestations are  symmetry terminal sensory disturbance of four limbs, lower motor nearon paralysis and Independence nerve function obstruction. Treatment: Di Huang, Xi Xin, Niu Xi, Du Zhong, Dang Gui, Gan Cao and Jin Yin Hua. Acupuncture: the indications are Ba Xie, Ba Feng, Shi Xuan, LI 4, PC 7, TE 4, PC 6, TE 6, LI 10, GB 21, GV 14, BL 23, SP 10, BL 40 and ST 36. Choose 3~6 acupoints every treatment. Apply even methods with filiform needle, remain the needles for 15~30 minutes and keep the moderate needling sensation; once a day or once the each other day. 7~10 days treatment is one course. 35 cases have been treated totally. Experience: the Traditional Chinese medicine thinks that polyneuropathy belongs to Wei syndromes and Bei syndromes, and most of them are insufficiency of liver and kidney function, qi and blood block, excess of damp heat, obstruction of meridians, and lead to polyneuropathy. The author opens the meridians, regulate qi and blood circulation by acupuncture, and clear away heat, eliminate damp, regulate liver and kidney with Chinese herbs. Because of the medications by differentiation, the good effect can be received.
