Traumatology and Orthopedics

We have treated 100 cases of vertebroarterial cervical spondylosis by both oral administration of Chinese herbs and Tuina therapy, and observed the rheoencephalogram before and after the treatments. The prescription of Chinese herbs for oral administration: benefit qi, activate blood and eliminate water retention: Huang Qi, Dang Gui, Chuan Xiong, raw Ge Gen, Jiang Huang, Ze Xie, Dan Shen, Su Mu, prepared Ru Xiang, prepared Mo Yao, Chuan Shan Jia, Gui Zhi, Shang Lu, Hei Chou, Bai Chou, Che Qian Zi, raw Gan Cao. Tuina therapy: Gun Fa (rolling method), Tui Fa (pushing method), An Fa (pressing method), Xuan Zhuan Fu Wei Fa (reposition by rotation) and Fang Song Fa (relaxation method).

Treatment results: the total effective rate is 93%. The observations on rheoencephalogram before and after the treatments demonstrate that it can reduce the cerebrovascular tone, improve arterial elasticity, and enhance the stroke blood supply intensity by benefiting qi, activating blood and eliminating water with both oral administration of Chinese herbs and Tuina therapy.
