Internal Medicine

We treated sick sinus syndrome by warming yang and eliminating stasis, benefiting qi and opening meridians and received a preferable curative effect. The summary is made as follows. There are 19 males and 11 females in this 30-case-group, and the age is between 28~63 years old. 12 of them are caused by coronary insufficiency, 1 of them is caused after myocardial infarction, 2 of them are caused by cardiomyopathy, 3 of them are caused by myocarditis, and 12 of them are caused by uncertain reasons. The fastest heart rate is 48 times/minute, and the slowest is 31 times/minute.

The prescription is self-made Bing Dou Fang: Ma Huang, Zhi Fu Zi, Ren Shen, Huang Qi, Mai Dong, Wu Wei Zi, Gui Zhi, Dan Shen, Chuan Xiong, Zhi Shi and Shi Chang Pu. Fu Shen and Yuan Zhi can be added for severe palpitation; Xie Bai, Gua Lou and Chi Shao can be added for oppressed feeling in chest; Ku Shen and Yuan Zhi can be added for more premature beat. After patient’s condition is controlled, Tian Wang Bu Xin Dan or Bai Zi Yang Xin Wan should be applied.

Curative Effect: The total effective rate is 86.6%.
